Jōhana Mugiya Festival城端むぎや祭
The district of Johana comes alive during the autumn festival with the vibrant Mugiya-bushi folk song and Mugiya dances. Dancers perform energetically throughout the district, accompanied by the melodic sounds of the traditional Japanese string instrument, kokyu. The Mugiya Odori Competition, held at the Johanaza Performing Arts Centre, is a standout event of the festival.
