Adachi Museum of Art足立美術館
The Adachi Museum of Art is famous for its collection of works by Yokoyama Taikan, a pre-WWII Japanese painter, and its Japanese gardens. Founded in 1970 by local businessman Adachi Zenko, the museum has a collection of around 1,500 pieces of Japanese art, including 130 works by Taikan. Occupying 165,000 square meters, the museum showcases Japanese paintings, pottery, and other art forms. Its six gardens have been recognized as "Japan's No. 1" for 19 consecutive years by the "Journal of Japanese Gardening" and have received the highest rating of three stars from the "Michelin Green Guide Japon" and "Guide Bleu Japon" travel guides in France.
