Ibaraki Prefectural Museum of History茨城県立歴史館

The Ibaraki Prefectural Museum of History, located in Mito, offers a glimpse into the history of Ibaraki through its collection of artefacts, artworks and ancient documents from the Edo period, including extensive documentation from the Tokugawa clan who ruled Mito Domain during that time. Opened in September 1974, the museum's grounds also feature a selection of Edo-period farm buildings and examples of western-style Japanese architecture from the Meiji period.
