Miraikan - The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation日本科学未来館

Founded in July 2001, Miraikan stands as a national science museum located within Tokyo's Odaiba District, situated in the Tokyo Academic Park. Its establishment was guided by "The Basic Plan for Science and Technology," and it emerged as a hub dedicated to enriching comprehension of science and technology. The museum boasts an array of permanent and temporary exhibitions, alongside its very own movie theater.

    Within the exhibition area there is a comprehensive collection of 13 boards in varying sizes, intelligently designed to offer versatile access to Earth's data meticulously gathered by scientists. Explore a diverse array of topics, encompassing everything from the shifting seasons within biological ecosystems to the intricate patterns of climate change, along with forecasts regarding the future of the global environment. Rekindle your understanding of the world's environment and human endeavors from multiple viewpoints, as you freely select from hundreds of data types and layer diverse information onto a single map.

  • Create Your Future - Permanent Exhibition

    Within this exhibition, the focus is entirely directed towards contemporary progress and pioneering technologies, alongside a glimpse into future potentials. Here, you'll discover insights on subjects like robots, digitalization, and the internet—fundamental components of our daily lives. The exhibition also presents a forward-looking vision of what's to come, including topics like humanlike androids and the symbiotic relationship between digital and natural elements.

  • Explore the Frontiers - Permanent Exhibition

    In this area, you have the opportunity to delve into space, the solar system, Earth, and the entirety of life through a diverse range of scales. This exhibit is centered around a forward-looking viewpoint, rooted in the comprehension of the intricate interplay between elemental particles, cells, living organisms, the Earth's environment, the universe, and the choices made by humanity.

  • Dome Theater

    The Dome Theater showcases films that center around themes of science, research, technology, and space exploration. These featured films are presented in 3D. For the convenience of visitors, English and sub-audio (in Japanese) options are provided, particularly for those with impaired vision. To access the Dome Theater, a combination ticket with admission to the Permanent Exhibition is necessary. If you intend to watch multiple films at the Dome Theater within a single day, each additional session is priced at 310 yen for adults and 100 yen for children.
