Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium仙台うみの杜水族館
The Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium opened its doors in 2015, taking over as the successor of the Marinepia Matsushima Aquarium which had been in operation for 88 years. The aquarium features a wide variety of marine life from the Pacific Ocean, including fish, sharks, rays, and sea turtles. One of the highlights of the aquarium is the large tank that simulates a coral reef, where visitors can see a variety of colorful fish and other marine animals.In addition to the exhibits, the aquarium offers interactive activities such as touch tanks and feeding shows. Visitors can also take a walk through the underwater tunnel, where they can see a variety of fish swimming above and around them.The aquarium also has a section dedicated to the marine life of the Tohoku region, highlighting the unique species that can be found in the local waters.
