Kaki festival柿八講祭
The festival itself continues as a harvest festival. Persimmon is a specialty of the district. Each parishioner removes the sacred persimmon from a tree, and on the day of the festival, it is put in a Jūbako (tiered boxes) and offered to the Sanpo, “Three Treasures”, of the worship hall. After the festival, the people scatter these persimmons among the parishioners, and the parishioners take it home. The ritual with prayer displays the gratitude for the autumn harvest.
