Nagasaki Kunchi / Okunchi長崎くんち / 長崎おくんち
Nagasaki Kunchi is a traditional Japanese festival that has been celebrated for over 380 years in honor of the local deity at Suwa Shrine. The festival features performances, including Japanese folk dances and intercultural elements such as dragon dances and Dutch-influenced shows. It takes place at four main venues in Nagasaki and tickets must be purchased in advance. In addition to the paid performances, the festival also includes "Niwasaki Mawari," in which the performing groups visit local businesses, shops, and communities throughout the city.
