Ogi Minato Matsuri小木港祭り
The Ogi Minato Matsuri is a festival that has its roots in a ritual offering of rice to Kisaki Shrine for the safety of vessels when Ogi was a bustling port town. During the festival, various groups travel from door to door performing traditional dances such as Kojishimai (the deer dance), Ojishimai (the big lion dance), Ondeko (demon drumming), and Shukunegi Chitochinton (a phallic dance). The festival also includes performances of Ogi Okesa (a folk song and dance) and a parade of portable shrines. The festival is particularly renowned for its fireworks display on the first day, which marks the end of the summer festival season on Sado Island.
