Yatsuo-machi八尾町
Yatsuo-machi was a town located in Fubu-gun, Toyama Prefecture. On April 1, 2005, Yatsuo, along with the towns of Ōsawano and Ōyama, the town of Fuchū, and the villages of Hosoiri and Yamada, were merged into the expanded city of Toyama. The name Yatsuo is believed to have originated from the convergence of ridges from all cardinal and ordinal directions in the area. It is characterized by its numerous ridges and valleys in the city. Rice terraces, utilizing landslide slopes, are a common sight in the mountainous village, and the area has been recognized as one of the top 100 rice terrace destinations.
