Inari Ōkami稲荷大神
Religion
Inari Ōkami is a Shinto deity and the patron of fertility, agriculture, prosperity, and foxes in Japanese mythology. Depicted as either a male or a female deity, Inari is often associated with the production and distribution of food, especially rice, and is worshipped by farmers and merchants alike. Inari is also thought to be the patron of business, and many businesses in Japan, especially those involved in agriculture and food production, offer prayers and offerings to the deity in hopes of receiving blessings and protection. Inari shrines, which can be found throughout Japan, often feature torii gates, stone fox statues, and offerings of rice and other food items.
