Tokugawa Ieyasu徳川家康
Tokugawa Ieyasu (1543-1616), who was born as Matsudaira Takechiyo and went by other names, founded and served as the first shogun of the Tokugawa Shogunate in Japan. He ruled from 1603 until the Meiji Restoration in 1868. He was one of the three individuals responsible for unifying Japan, along with Oda Nobunaga, his former lord, and Toyotomi Hideyoshi, a fellow subordinate of Oda.
