Kirishimamine Shrine霧島岑神社

The exact date of the establishment of the shrine is uncertain, but it is believed to date back to the 6th century. The shrine is closely associated with the three generations of the Hyuga, beginning with the grandson of the sun goddess Amaterasu, Ninigi, who descended from the Heaven. This connection is reflected in the enshrined deities of the shrine, including Ninigi and his wife, the goddess Konohanasakuya Hime, as well as Hoori and his wife, the goddess Toyotamahime, and Ugayafukiaezu and his wife, the goddess Tamayorihime.
