Kanazawa Hyakumangoku Festival金沢百万石まつり

Kanazawa's largest festival, celebrates the arrival of Lord Maeda Toshiie to Kanazawa Castle in 1583. The main event is the Hyakumangoku Parade, which recreates Lord Maeda Toshiie's entry into Kanazawa, with participants dressed in 16th-century attire parading through several city blocks. Other highlights of the festival include Bon Festival dances, Tourou nagashi (floating lanterns), a parade of children playing drums and holding lanterns and other events.
