Onominato Shrine大野湊神社

The Onominato Shrine houses three main deities: Hachiman Okami, Amaterasu Omikami, and Sarutahiko Okami. Additionally, there are four smaller shrines within the precinct. Sarutahiko Okami, in particular, played a major role in the creation of the shrine and is known as the "god of guidance" and "god of opening the road." Gokoku Hachiman Okami is associated with Emperor Ōjin and is revered as the god of military luck, national guardian, imperial god, agriculture, and blacksmithing. Amaterasu Omikami is considered the highest god of the nation, ancestor of the imperial family, and the supreme god of the Japanese people, and is associated with the sun.
